STAR Mission Statement

To pursue, promote and protect the interests of motorcyclists; to develop better and more enthusiastic relations between the general public, the media and the operators and riders of motorcycles; toencourage rider participation in events; to promote motorcycle safety and camaraderie among members; to promote organized events; and in general, perform them in a lawful manner.

A little about STAR Touring

Conceived in 1995 and founded in 1996, STAR Touring and Riding Association is an international family riding organization. As the, "Official Riding Organization of STAR Motorcycles.,"STAR is a non-political, non-confrontational association.

Its main focus is on family, fun, camaraderie and RIDING. All brands of motorcycles are welcome.

Comprising over 70,000 families and over 235 chapters, STAR recognizes safety as a first priority.
The STAR community is a mix of riders with varied riding experiences.

Chapter rides follow the highway laws and limits, to keep everyone as safe as possible.
This allows everyone to enjoy the ride and not have new riders feel overly stressed.

STAR chapter rides do not include "tavern runs", and consumption of alcoholic beverages on chapter rides is prohibited. We want to see you back safely for the next ride.

If you are looking for a family motorcycle association, with a lot of pride, spirit and camaraderie you have found the right organization.

This is How We Got Started

In 2001 looking for someone to ride with Jay Casiano spoke to a member of another chapter he knew and he suggested Jay call Star Touring & Riding National. The National office said there were no chapters in the area but he can try and start a chapter and he was sent the Area Coordinator’s package. Star Touring placed his name and number on the website as Area Coordinator and he received a call from Al Donadio after meeting they agreed to put up some fliers in stores around East Stroudsburg & Stroudsburg in an attempt to recruit members. It took some time, but a meet and greet was held in Comptons Pancake House in Stroudsburg and they were able to secure enough members to sign a Charter and become a Chapter of Star Touring & Riding Association. They became the 3rd Chapter in the state of Pa on Oct. 26, 2002.

STAR Touring and Riding is a family oriented organization which is all inclusive of all types of bikes and all types of riders. Chapter 204 members, over 50 strong, come from many backgrounds but have one purpose - to ride and have a good time
Chapter 204 Annual Picnic
Every year Chapter 204 hosts a free picnic for friends, family and other STAR Touring chapters - many of whom fall into the previous two categories! This year saw good weather and a great turnout - if you could not make it this year plan on making it next year where the open roads, terrific scenery and good times make it an event worthy of any event calendar. We are about Riding
We do a lot of things, but we are primarily a riding group. That is why we're open to all brands of motorcycles. Our rides consist of Chapter rides, pokers runs, holiday rides, over-nights, pre-rides, fun-rides and rallies with members of our group and more!
We are Inclusive, Not Exclusive. . .
Even though this organization was originally founded as an owner's group for Yamaha's Star line of cruisers, we have always been open to all brands of bikes. Several of our members own more than one brand of bike and many of us have ridden several brands over the years. Some of our members had never ridden before. They have taken the Motorcycle Safety Foundation course to learn (http://www.msf-usa.org/ - Highly Recommended!!) and have just purchased their first bike.
We Ride Safe, Clean & Sober. . .
 
Most of our members have never belonged to an organized motorcycle group. They tried us out and found out how we ride. We take our time and look for the scenic roads so we can relax and enjoy our time. We don't speed. We don't drink, even beer, on our rides. It's in violation of our National Charter. We focus on safe riding and having a good time. We make rest stops. We want people to be comfortable; it's not an endurance contest. We have passengers who didn't enjoy riding with their partners before they joined our group, but our focus on safety & comfort changed their minds.
 
Help Us Grow. . .
Many of our members never had the intention of joining a riding group. They tried us out and found that they liked what we are about. Consistent, pre-planned, safe, organized rides. A regular schedule is e-mailed to you monthly and posted on our web site. Our dedicated leadership and members are our strength. We enjoy riding together. The destinations, the meals, the camaraderie are all part of it. We are about getting away to relax and enjoy your motorcycle; the reason you bought it.  Try us out and you may find that's what you're about, too..
